If you haven’t heard the name Greta Thunberg before, you’ve probably been living under a rock. The 16 year old climate activist recently traveled to North America via boat (to reduce her carbon footprint) to speak at the United Nations where she scolded world leaders for their inactions on climate change. After her speech in New York, Greta was set to travel to Montreal, where she was to gather with 500,000 protestors for climate change. These events, held around the world, are intended to highlight climate change and spur people into taking real action. To help her get there without burning fossil fuels, actor-turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger gifted her a Tesla Model 3.
Schwarzenegger first met Thunberg earlier this year at an environmental summit in Vienna, where Schwarzenegger said he was “starstruck” after their encounter.
While Schwarzenegger is famous for being one of the first to drive a Humvee in the early 1990’s (and a certain movie called “The Terminator”), which are not exactly known for their fuel efficiency, in recent years he has had one converted to electric power by an company called Kreisel Electric.
