Tesla Model Y deliveries in the UK begin, more special delivery events planned

Tesla fans in the UK can finally get their hands on the Model Y. At a special delivery event in Bristol on Wednesday, more than 25 electric SUV were delivered to their new owners.

Photos of the special event were shared by the Tesla Owners UK Twitter account, who explained the new cars had all of the latest features from Giga Shanghai including the AMD Ryzen processor, double pane acoustic glass, heated wipers, and more.

Interestingly, the cars were delivered with their batteries below 50% state of charge, so Tesla offered the new owners free Supercharging for the day.

This event was just the beginning with more planned in the coming days at the American Air Museum in Cambridge, the Imperial War Museum in Manchester, Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire and Oyster Catcher in Anglesey.

It will all culminate with what is described as a “massive” delivery event at Southampton docks on February 19.

After a longer than expected wait, customers in the UK were finally able to place orders for the Model Y in October last year.
