The number of Model Y prototype spottings seems to be increasing by the day, indicating that the new crossover SUV from Tesla could soon be entering production.
Just last week we saw a gorgeous white Performance Model Y spotted in a parking lot in California. We also saw last week a black Model Y and its build sticker which revealed some possible options that may come with the new EV.
This latest spotting is of a similar black dual motor Performance Model Y on the highway in Olympia, Washington, just a couple of hours south of the Canadian border. The black Model Y looks great as it smoothly rolls down the highway.
The Performance wheels reveal red calipers underneath, something which wasn’t visible on the other sightings which had the aero covers on. This prototype also has the chrome delete package on the window trim and door handles, a popular aftermarket upgrade on the Model 3 (save on your chrome delete kit by visiting our Deals page).
All the recent sightings of the Model Y have it looking better and better, and also looking like it is ready for production any day now. Recent reports suggest that production could start as early as Q1 2020, and even Tesla themselves have announced that the first deliveries have been bumped up several months to summer 2020.
The Long Range version in Canada will start at $66,390 CAD and the Performance version is available for $84,390 CAD.
