Tesla has updated its Model S and Model X lineup in the U.S., introducing a new premium “Luxe Package” across all trims.
The move comes with a US$10,000 price increase, but the included features add up to more than that, and include Full Self-Driving (Supervised), free lifetime Supercharging, four years of premium service, and free lifetime Premium Connectivity.
Neither the price increase nor the Luxe Package apply in Canada.
New Pricing for Model S and X
As of Friday night, the starting prices of all trims of the Model S and Model X in the U.S. increased by US$10,000, to:
- Model S AWD – US$94,990
- Model S Plaid – US$109,990
- Model X AWD – US$99,990
- Model X Plaid – US$114,990
While the jump in price may initially raise eyebrows, the inclusion of the Luxe Package makes the change a net gain in value for most buyers.
What’s Included in Tesla’s Luxe Package
Full Self-Driving (Supervised)
Every Model S and Model X now includes Full Self-Driving (Supervised), priced at US$8,000, which allows the car to navigate almost anywhere with minimal driver input.
Four-Year Premium Service
The package also comes with a Four-Year Premium Service plan, which covers tire and windshield protection along with scheduled maintenance. This includes wheel alignment, tire rotations, front camera cleaning, and replacement of key components such as the HEPA filter, cabin filter, and wiper blades.
Free Lifetime Supercharging
Owners will also be able to charge for free at all Tesla Superchargers in North America, paying only for potential idle or congestion fees. As with other recent free Supercharging offers, the perk is not transferable to new owners.
Free Lifetime Premium Connectivity
The Luxe Package also adds lifetime Premium Connectivity, enabling features like live traffic visualization, music and video streaming, satellite-view maps, and in-car internet browsing without a subscription.

Why Did Tesla Add The Luxe Package?
By bundling these add-ons into the base price, Tesla is clearly aiming to make the Model S and Model X more appealing in an attempt to boost sales. During the second quarter, Tesla only sold an estimated 5-6,000 Model S/X in the U.S., down from as many as 15,000 a year earlier.
Raising prices doesn’t typically help with sales, but the Luxe Package provides a higher total value than buying each feature individually. For buyers planning to keep their Tesla for several years, the free Supercharging and Premium Service alone could offset a significant portion of the price increase.
This is not the first time Tesla has introduced a bundle of features to boost sales of the Model S/X. In 2024, Tesla added the “Drive Anywhere Package” package that included three years of unlimited Supercharging, Premium Connectivity, and other premium features for a one-time cost of US$5,000.
Shortly after launch, Tesla adjusted the offer to include an option that lowered the package price to US$2,000 if the customer purchased Full Self-Driving (FSD) for US$8,000. This brought the total to US$10,000 for FSD and three years of the bundled services.
