Earlier today Drive Tesla reported that the refresh Model S and Model X were set to debut outside of North America at a special viewing event in Taiwan.
Along with a new native CCS2 charging port, we hinted that there would be a new design feature added to the Model S that would be revealed today.
Thanks to some photos that have emerged prior to the official opening, we can now confirm that the refresh Model S has gained new projector headlights.
The first photos aren’t great quality, but you can see the new projector lens on the outside of the headlight housing.
Based on what we have been told about the new headlights, they feature the same matrix technology as the projector headlights that were added to the Model 3 and Model Y.
The new lights are being added to the design to coincide with the launch outside North America, but will also make their way to North American deliveries in the near future.
Stay tuned for more photos from the event later tonight.
UPDATE 9:08pm PST: Here is another photo showing a glimpse of the new taillights on the Model S. It is difficult to see but the chrome trim piece between the taillights is now gone.
UPDATE 9:15pm PST: Unfortunately Tesla has apparently become aware of these photos leaking, and have now put a car cover on the Model S. According to a source at the event, they will no longer allow people to see the new headlights and taillights.
Stay tuned as we learn more.
