We’ve all seen plenty of videos of Tesla’s Performance Model 3 slaying high-end supercars on the race track. But we don’t often get to see a base Standard Range Plus (SR+) taking on opponents on the rack track. But now Youtuber Swycar has done just that, putting a SR+ up against two formidable opponents.
First up against the 283hp Tesla SR+ is a V6 Ford Mustang, which has been modified to nearly 290hp with a new exhaust and new ECU remap. Next to take on the SR+ is a stalwart on the race track, an AWD Porsche 911 Carrera 4S with 320hp and a 0-100 time of 5 seconds.
The first test is a short straight-line drag race. The second is race from a rolling start of 40km/h. It appears this video was taken before the latest update which boosted the power of the SR+ by 5%, in particular right at about that 40km/h mark. It would be interesting to see this test re-done after the update to see how different the results could be.
Stats wise the three vehicles are all pretty close, so it should make for an interesting matchup.
We’ll let you watch the video to find out the results. Was it what you were expecting? Let us know in the comments below.
