The AutoPark feature for the Tesla Model 3 is back, along with a couple of other new features for Canadians

A much-loved feature that has been missing from the Model 3 for some time, which allows your car to park itself after you exit the vehicle, has finally made an unannounced return.

AutoPark is a great feature for owners that have tight parking spots where they might not be able to open their doors once parked. By using this feature, simply set it up to auto park, exit your vehicle and close your door, and the car will do the rest for you.

To access AutoPark, you have to go into the Autopilot menu settings, tap on Summon, and turn off “Require Continuous Press” (and then tap ‘Yes’).

Then when you’re ready, double tap the right gear stalk. This will bring up the prompt on the screen where you select whether you want to AutoPark forward or backwards – select which one you want, get out of the car and close the doors, and your car will shift into gear and park itself.

If you have Homelink installed, your vehicle should also be able to open your garage door as it approaches, as well as close it once it is parked. Let us know in the comments if this is working for you. Here’s a video of AutoPark being used in a Model X.

Another new feature that was just mentioned, something that our American friends have had for a while, is no longer having to use a continuous press for Smart Summon.

Until now, you had to keep your finger pressed down on the button for your vehicle to move while using Smart Summon. Now with this new feature, you press the button once to get your vehicle to start moving, and then press the stop button when you want it to stop.

Another new feature for Canadians, as discovered by Mother Frunker, is the ability to use your key fob to Summon your vehicle. Check out his video below for more details.
