Demand for the Model 3 in Europe appears to be growing as Tesla exported a record number of vehicles from Giga Shanghai to the region in April.
According to figures from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), Tesla exported a total of 14,174 Model 3’s to Europe. That is more than double the amount it shipped to Europe in its first export in October 2020.
Tesla MIC Apr exports at 14,174 units.

With the record export numbers, sales figures for China dropped in April to 11,671 units. Combined with the exports that means Giga Shanghai produced 25,845 units during the month.
Those numbers are lower than previous month’s production rates due to a 2-week shutdown of the Model Y production line due to supply chain issues.
