Elon Accessories Premium Quality Touch Screen Protector for Tesla Model 3 [REVIEW]

Elon Accessories Matte protector wide

One of the signature features of the Model 3 is its minimalist interior, the center piece of which is the gorgeous 15 inch screen. A comment I often hear is the screen is set in place and you won’t be putting it in your pocket like your phone, so why get a screen protector? While that is true, if you’ve got kids, or even if you just want to keep your screen in pristine shape like the day you bought it, a screen protector is a must.

There are two types of screen protectors. The first is the clear protector, and the other is the matte protector.

Initially I had a clear protector on, the YEE PIN Model 3 Screen Protector. It was easy to install and looked great, or so I thought.

After seeing a matte protector on a friend’s Model 3, I replaced mine right away with the Elon Accessories Premium Quality Touch Screen Protector for Tesla Model 3. The matte finish is better because it dulls the glare you get with the clear protector. At the same time, it eliminates (or greatly reduces if you’ve got kids) fingerprints on the screen.

Both screen protectors are very easy to install, even for novices. It should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to install, including the time to clean the screen beforehand to ensure no dirt or dust particles get caught between the screen and protector, leaving a bubble.

One of the complaints you might hear about the matte finish is that it “dulls” the screen, and text and the map don’t look as sharp as without the screen protector. I can easily say that I did not notice a difference, and much prefer the look of the screen now with the matte finish.

While the price difference is substantial between the two, the matte finish really does a better job at keeping reflections and fingerprints at bay compared to the clear finish, and we highly recommend it. If you really don’t want to fork out the extra money for the matte finish, a clear protector will keep your screen safe, but you will not be able to escape the fingerprints and glare (you have been warned).
