The Tesla Model 3 continues to gather global accolades as it clears top rating and scores for electric vehicle (EV) efficiency from Green NCAP.
Green NCAP, a Europe-based independent initiative that promotes clean and efficient mobility, has awarded the 2024 Tesla Model 3 RWD the highest rating. The sedan received 5 stars and a 98% total score for achieving high efficiency. The organization cites the EV’s aerodynamics, lighter weight, and powertrain as contributing factors.

According to figures published by Green NCAP, the Tesla Model Y consumed only 14.2 kWh/100 km during testing on the road in dry and sunny weather with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius. This would have netted 475 km of driving range, a spectacular achievement with the Model Y’s 60 kWh battery pack. It performed even better on inner-city roads, posting 12.4 kWh/100 km and 547 km between charges.
Green NCAP acknowledged the improvements Tesla has made to the Model Y in just two years, “In 2022 Green NCAP tested a Tesla Model 3 for the first time and the vehicle set new standards for energy efficiency. Today, the result of the new Model 3 are even more impressive.”
The Model 3 remains a popular car in Europe, with the Mandelieu-La Napoule police force hoping to cut operating expenses by 85 percent by incorporating it into its patrol fleet.
