Tesla opens Cybertruck orders in Canada without a reservation

Tesla has opened up orders for its Cybertruck to anyone in Canada, allowing customers to purchase the Foundation Series Cybertruck without a reservation. The launch of the Cybertruck configurator in Canada follows a similar move in the US just a few weeks ago.

Tesla launched the Cybertruck in Canada earlier this month, with some eye watering prices made worse by the exorbitant taxes in certain parts of the country that pushed the Dual Motor All Wheel-Drive (AWD) variant to over C$160,000, and the Cyberbeast to well over C$200,000.

With a long line of customers waiting to buy the Cybertruck, Tesla sent out invitations to configure to all Canadian reservation holders, with the company telling us they wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to order the Foundation Series as there are only a limited number of units being built for Canada before production ends.

On the same day that Tesla launched the Cybertruck in Canada, they also allowed anyone in the US to purchase one, even if they didn’t have a prior reservation.

Now just a few weeks later and Tesla has done the same in Canada. On Tuesday the company launched the Cybertruck configurator north of the border. The configurator isn’t listed on the main page like the other vehicles, but is available from the menu at the top of the page. (h/t: @Sudz3)

Clicking on the ‘Order’ link will take you to the Cybertruck configurator, where you can select from either the AWD or Cyberbeast, starting at C$137,990 or C$165,990 respectively.

The order page indicates first deliveries are expected in October or November, the same as when the Cybertruck launched in Canada, hinting at a slow conversion rate from Canadian reservation holders since its debut.
