After a three year hiatus, the TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) Conference is returning to Vancouver over a period of five days this spring.
Scheduled to take place from April 10 to 14, 2022 at the Vancouver Convention Center, there will be 11 TED Talks, along with interviews, performances, and networking events.
Headlining the list of keynote speakers will be Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
The theme this year is “A New Era,” a nod to how much the world has changed since the last TED conference held before the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“A lot has changed since we last gathered in Vancouver for TED three years ago. We return not for more of the same, wonderful though that was, but to celebrate a new era. The future beckons with extraordinary possibilities we couldn’t have dreamt of. In medicine, in AI, in clean energy, in the ways we work, the ways we learn, and in the fundamental economic and social systems that underpin everything else.”
Unfortunately the average Tesla fan won’t be able to attend.
The TED2022 website shows there are four ticket categories, with the cheapest being the ‘Vanguard’ option, which comes in at $5,000 USD.
You can also opt for the ‘Patron’ level which gives you a 5-year membership to the TED conference and other benefits for $250,000.
Other speakers expected to make an appearance include Microsoft founder Bill Gates and US Vice President and climate advocate Al Gore.
