Tesla Supercharger approved by Quinte West Planning Commission [Ontario]

As Tesla’s Find Us map indicates, a new Supercharger is coming soon to Trenton this year, and we’ve found it.

Last week, the Quinte West Planning Advisory Commission held a meeting in which they discussed the new Supercharger, which is being proposed at the new Burger King franchise on Monogram Place.

No objections were raised, and the project was approved. Tesla can now move forward and start applying for related permits.

Based on the size of other nearby locations and with 20-stall Belleville a few exits away, this location will likely have 8 or 12 stalls.

The restaurant opened in April last year, along with a Subway and a Mucho Burrito. Other nearby amenities include Tim Hortons, McDonalds, and a Comfort Inn.

Proposed Tesla Charging Installation

Burger King property at Monogram Place

Mike Whitehead, Area Planner, advised that the Tesla charging installation is proposed for the rear section of the Burger King parking lot. Staff has confirmed no objections. There was correspondence between the Fire Department and the consultants regarding an emergency plan, and the Fire Department is satisfied. Mr. Whitehead stated the extent of work is relatively minimal and doesn’t justify a site plan amendment, however the Committee should formally approve the work.

Moved by: Phillip Lappan
Seconded: Greg King

The Committee recommends that the proposed Tesla charging installation at Monogram Place be approved.
