Last month Drive Tesla reported on Christopher ‘CJ’ Moore leaving Tesla, who at the time was the automaker’s Director of Autopilot Software.
His departure was fairly low-key, with it only coming to light due to a lawsuit against Tesla in which he was designated the corporate representative for the automaker.
Based on a report from Bloomberg this afternoon, Moore has apparently joined Silicon Valley tech giant Apple.
According to sources familiar with the move, Moore was headhunted by Apple to help develop the software for their self-driving car.
The report says Moore works under Stuart Bowers, another former Tesla executive who joined Apple at the end of 2020.
Stuart had led Tesla’s Autopilot team until his departure.
Apple has long been known to be working on a self-driving car, with rumours of ‘Project Titan’ first appearing as far back as 2014.
