#EVWeekinCanada with more announcements

With the end to #EVWeekinCanada approaching, the Federal government has kept the announcements coming. Here are the latest updates from across Canada.

In British Columbia, 94 DC Fast Chargers are coming to the province. Twenty-one chargers are going to the City of Coquitlam, while the remaining 72 will be spread across the rest of the province.

BC Hydro will install 65 chargers, the City of Coquitlam will install 21, and First Capital Asset Management will install eight. The Federal portion of the funding totals $470,000.

In addition, British Columbia will also receive $1.2 million for EV infrastructure via an announcement from Minister Joyce Murray. The announcement includes $905,000 to the City of Vancouver to install 91 EV chargers. $300,000 goes to 7-eleven to install 6 EV fast chargers in Vancouver, Langley, Abbotsford, Kelowna and Victoria.

Finally, Petro-Canada received $50,000 to install a single charger in Vancouver.

All of these investments include CleanBC Go Electric Program funding and either municipal or private investment.

In Alberta, Minister Jim Carr announced $310,000 funding to install 44 EV chargers in Calgary and Edmonton. Calgary will install 22 EV chargers at light rail transit stations and recreation centres throughout the city. ENMAX utilities are also investing $125,000 for the project.

While in Edmonton, EPCOR Utilities will install 24 new chargers at 13 sites near recreation facilities. They are investing $330,000 to complete the project.

In Ontario, Minister Filomena Tassi announced an investment of $200,000 for EV chargers in Hamilton. The city will install 40 EV chargers throughout the city. The City of Hamilton will also contribute $251,300 toward completing the project.
