The Government of British Columbia has announced thousands of dollars in new incentives for businesses and municipalities to convert their fleets to electric vehicles (EVs).
As part of the Go Electric Fleets Program (GEFP), eligible applicants can receive up to $4,000 in rebates for purchasing and installing level 2 charging stations. This represents a 50% to 75% increase from basic rates.
Indigenous Nations, organizations, and businesses have access to even higher rebates for level 2 and DC fast charging stations
Rebates are also available for those purchasing EVs for their fleet. Applicants can receive the same $3,000 rebate available to the general public through the CEV for BC fund.
“We want to encourage more B.C. businesses, Indigenous Nations, municipalities and regional districts to make the switch to electric vehicles in their fleets,” said Bruce Ralston, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation.
Other fleet services are also offered through the program. Included for eligible applicants is 40 hours of free support services from a zero-emission fleet advisor.
The increased rebates come just one month after the province doubled the maximum rebate for commercial EVs from $50,000 to $100,000.
