If you’re looking for another option for waterproof floor and trunk mats, Tesla has added new “rugged textile” mats for your Model 3 or Model Y.
These new waterproof mats are made with recycled content, and according to the automaker the mats are 100% recyclable. The lightweight mats feature a unique textured fabric designed to trap water and dirt to keep the carpet interior looking like new.
As you can see from the photos, these new floor mats aren’t exactly all-weather and are more of an alternative to the carpet mats Tesla currently offers. There is no coverage of the dead pedal area, or lips to keep snow and mud off the carpet interior, so these won’t provide much protection in Canadian winters.
