Like much of the news related to Tesla these days, Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently discussed on Twitter the future of Tesla’s Full Self Driving (FSD) capability.
The software option, which currently costs $7,900 in Canada, is set to increase by $1,000 on November 1st. That’s $1,000USD, so expect a slightly higher price increase in Canada, possibly in the range of $1,200-$1,300.

What caused this price increase? According to Musk, the driver (see what I did there) of this price increase is the release of the latest V10 software update, which came with the Smart Summon capability (amongst other amazing new features).
Over time, the suite of features included in the FSD option has changed. There used to be another option for Tesla owners, called Enhanced Autopilot (EAP), which had some of the features of FSD now includes. Now, EAP no longer exists, and owners are only able to select FSD, which includes the features listed on Tesla’s website.
Musk has also noted on previous ocassions that Tesla will increase the price of FSD over time as more and more features are added and the closer they get to true Full Self Driving.
