Tesla is planning a significant charging network for the Semi in Europe, with more than 100 Megacharger stalls set to be installed across the continent as the company prepares to begin deliveries of its electric Class 8 truck next year.
The plans were revealed at IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany, where the European-spec Tesla Semi made its debut this week.
A map displayed during the event showed the initial Megacharger rollout stretching across several major freight markets, including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands and Belgium, with additional countries expected to follow.

Each stall will support the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) standard and be capable of delivering up to 1.2 MW. At those power levels, Tesla says the Semi can recover more than 60% of its range in around 30 minutes.
Interestingly, Tesla currently lists the European Semi’s maximum charge rate at 800 kW.
The announcement follows yesterday’s launch of Semi Charging for Business in Europe, which allows fleet operators to purchase Megachargers and lower-powered Basechargers for their own facilities.
The more than 100 stalls announced at IAA are separate from those customer-owned installations and will form Tesla’s own European charging network.
Tesla preparing for aggressive Semi production ramp
Tesla is building out the charging network as it prepares to significantly increase Semi production at its new factory next to Giga Nevada.
Speaking at IAA, Tesla Semi program head Dan Priestley said the facility has been designed to supply both North America and Europe.
“We have a plan for an aggressive ramp. This factory will grow and serve our initial demand in North America and Europe. It has a designed production capacity of 1,000 trucks per week.”
At full capacity, that would equate to roughly 52,000 trucks annually.
The first Semis are expected to arrive on European roads in 2027.
