Lucid Q1 2026 Deliveries Fall Short as Supplier Issue Halts Gravity Sales for Nearly a Month

Lucid’s momentum coming out of 2025 has hit an unexpected speed bump, with the luxury EV maker reporting a significant shortfall in first-quarter 2026 deliveries after a supplier-related disruption forced a temporary halt in sales.

The California-based automaker produced 5,500 vehicles and delivered just 3,093 during the first three months of the year, falling well short of analyst expectations of roughly 5,967 units produced and more than 5,200 delivered.

At the center of the disruption was the company’s new Gravity SUV. Deliveries of the flagship model were paused for nearly a month after Lucid identified a quality issue tied to second-row seats. According to the company, an unapproved change from a supplier led to concerns over seatbelt anchor welds, prompting a stop-sale and subsequent recall of 4,476 vehicles built between December 2024 and February 2026.

The issue forced Lucid to halt deliveries for 29 days, with February bearing the brunt of the slowdown. Interim CEO Marc Winterhoff said the company took time to reverse the supplier change and inspect affected vehicles before resuming shipments.

Despite the disruption, Lucid said that demand remains intact, pointing to stronger performance in January and March.

Still, the quarterly results mark a sharp decline from the end of 2025. Lucid delivered a record 5,345 vehicles in Q4 and 15,841 units for the full year, a 55% increase year-over-year.

Despite the rocky start to 2026, Lucid is holding firm on its full-year production outlook, reiterating guidance of 25,000 to 27,000 vehicles. If achieved, that would represent a substantial increase from the 17,840 vehicles produced in 2025.
