Tesla rolls out free Supercharging perks in Asia with trade-in and limited-time offers

Tesla has started offering customers in two key Asian markets free Supercharging, with terms and conditions. Owners in China and Japan can “refuel” at no cost while the rest of the world deals with rising fossil fuel prices.

According to Tslachan on X, Tesla China is gifting 5,000 km worth of Supercharging for every new EV. However, customers must be trading in an old car. The trade-in can occur at Tesla’s official service centers or approved 3rd-party service providers. The old car could be a Tesla or a non-Tesla model, as stated on Tesla China’s website.

Tesla China first announced the 5,000 km of Supercharging reward in December 2025. The offer lasts till April 30, 2026. The company operates more than 2,500 Supercharging stations and 12,000 Superchargers across China.

Tesla Japan is also wooing new customers with free charging for 3 years. The official handle posted on X that qualified customers can avoid surging gas prices by switching to the EV brand. The offer is available for only the Model 3 and Model Y.

According to Tesla, the 3-year Supercharging bonus can help drivers save up to 291,000 yen (about $1,800).

The promo is available for orders placed and delivered by June 30th, meaning buyers must act fast. They can select from existing stock or make a custom order. However, the promo does not apply to used cars or vehicles used for business, such as taxis and delivery services.

Tesla sold more than 10,000 cars in Japan in 2025. It is planning to open more than 30 new service centers in the county.
