Tesla extends FSD transfer delivery deadline in South Korea to June 30

While controversy over Tesla’s FSD transfer policy continues in North America, the company has extended its Full Self-Driving (FSD) transfer program in South Korea, giving owners more time to move their driver-assistance software to a new vehicle through a trade-in program.

The updated promotion, announced by Tesla Korea on its official blog, pushes the deadline for eligible deliveries to June 30, 2026, an extension from the previous cutoff at the end of March.

Under the revised program, Tesla owners in South Korea can place an order for a new vehicle by March 31, 2026, and still qualify for the transfer promotion as long as the vehicle is delivered by June 30, 2026.

The offer applies to customers who trade in a Tesla equipped with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) or Enhanced Autopilot and take delivery of a new vehicle during the promotion period.

The program effectively gives customers an additional three months to complete delivery, making it easier for buyers navigating production timelines or delivery scheduling.

Tesla’s decision to extend the FSD transfer window and the delivery deadline in South Korea stands out given recent policy changes in North America.

Last week Tesla updated its terms to state that customers must take delivery by March 31, 2026 to qualify for the FSD transfer program. Previously, the terms said only placing an order was required by March 31.

While not uncommon for automakers to change the terms of a particular deal, what angered many was that Tesla made the change retroactive, and anyone who placed an order under the original terms stating only an order was required, no longer qualified to transfer FSD to their new vehicle. The only exception was that if the estimated delivery slipped by a few days or weeks into April due to a delay caused by Tesla, then they would still honour the FSD transfer.

Tesla also offered to refund the typically non-refundable $250 order deposit, but the gesture did little to slow the backlash from some customers.
