Porsche adds Plug & Charge support for Tesla Superchargers in Canada

Porsche EV drivers in Canada can now enjoy a much simpler charging experience, as the German automaker has enabled Plug & Charge access on Tesla’s Supercharger network. This allows select Porsche electric vehicles (EVs) to automatically authenticate and pay at Superchargers across North America—no apps, cards, or extra steps required.

Through the Porsche Charging Service, owners of the Macan Electric and model year 2026 Taycan can now access more than 27,500 Tesla Superchargers across North America using Plug & Charge functionality. Once enabled, the system automatically authenticates the vehicle and processes billing the moment the charging cable is connected, creating a true “plug in and walk away” experience, just like Tesla owners have come accustomed to experiencing.

For Canadian drivers, this represents a major leap in convenience. Instead of juggling multiple charging apps or payment methods, Porsche EV owners can rely on encrypted, vehicle-based authentication that works in the background.

As long as drivers are active members of the Porsche Charging Service, charging sessions begin automatically.

“This marks significant progress with regards to convenience for our EV customers,” said Trevor Arthur, President and CEO of Porsche Cars Canada. “Increasing Plug & Charge access makes charging simpler and more user-friendly, moving us closer to a seamless electric vehicle experience.”

Porsche has also confirmed that this functionality won’t be limited to its current electric lineup. The upcoming Cayenne Electric, expected to launch in Canada later this year, will also support Plug & Charge on the Tesla network when it arrives.

Beyond Tesla’s Superchargers, Porsche has been steadily broadening its charging ecosystem over the past year. Plug & Charge is already supported at Electrify Canada locations. The automaker has also rolled out over-the-air (OTA) software updates for both the Taycan and Macan Electric, ensuring compatibility.
