Tesla brings updated Model 3 to Europe with longer range, performance boost, and more

Tesla has rolled out a refreshed Model 3 lineup in Europe, with notable upgrades to range, performance, and design. The update introduces new hardware features across all trims and brings the latest LG 5M battery pack to European customers, delivering longer driving distances and extra horsepower for the Performance variant.

Longer Range with LG’s New 5M Battery

One of the biggest changes comes from under the floor. Tesla has integrated LG Energy’s new 82 kWh 5M battery pack into the Model 3, raising the efficiency and capacity of its most popular sedan. These cells were first introduced in China recently and are now making their way into European-bound Model 3s, which are exported from Giga Shanghai.

Here are the new estimated driving ranges for each model, based on the more generous WLTP standard. Converting to an EPA-equivalent would be about a 15% to 20% lower rage.

  • Long Range RWD: 750 km (466 miles) WLTP range
  • Long Range AWD: 660 km (410 miles) WLTP range
  • Performance: 571 km (355 miles) WLTP range

Performance Gains and Hardware Updates

In addition to longer range, the Model 3 Performance variant gets a welcome power boost. Thanks to the LG 5M pack’s improved energy density, the Performance now delivers 500 horsepower, an increase of 40 hp over the previous version. This translates into a quicker 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 3.1 seconds, down from 3.3 seconds.

Across all trims, Tesla has introduced design and hardware changes that we told you about previously, including:

Turn Signal Stalk Retrofit

In addition to reintroducing the turn signal stalk on new builds, Tesla is also giving recent owners a way to add it back. The company now offers a left turn-signal stalk retrofit for €660 (C$1,080/US$775) in Europe.

According to Tesla, “This package is compatible with Model 3 vehicles produced in 2023, 2024 and 2025 without a turn signal stalk. Shipping to your preferred Tesla Service Center and installation are included with purchase.”

This follows the same pattern Tesla took in China, adding the stalk back into production and offering a retrofit to existing owners.
