Canada’s charging network continues to expand, first with Tesla building many V3 Superchargers, and now with Electrify Canada announcing plans to build 32 charging stations by 2020.
The announcement was made last week in Halton Hills, Ontario, at the “first charge event” held at the Toronto Premium Outlets shopping centre, the site of the first of Electrify Canada’s 32-station network of chargers.
The new charging stations, each with a minimum of 4 chargers with room for expansion, will feature both CCS and CHAdeMO charging options. As a Tesla driver, you will need your CHAdeMO adaptor to charge at these stations.
The stations will be built in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and B.C., with construction at several already underway. While there is a map where you can see the general locations of the chargers, actual site locations will be announced soon.
Also launched last week is the network’s mobile app, available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play store. It will displaying station locations, charger availability and the available power levels. As with other charging options, users can also initiate and pay for their charge using the app.
