What Car? is the UK’s biggest car buying guide that has been around for more than 45 years. Each year they publish their Car of the Year Awards in over 25 categories from Small Car to Performance Car.
In the category of ‘Large Electric Vehicle‘, What Car? named the Performance Model 3 as the winner, beating out the likes of the AUdi e-tron 55 and Jaguar i-Pace to win the title.
In awarding the prize to the Model 3, they noted the cars “eye-popping acceleration” and impressive brakes as reasons for its win. They also called the Model 3 a “game-changer” that encourages drivers to go electric like no other vehicle on the road today. They even went so far as to say it reason enough for ditching fossil fuels for good.
What Car? did a full review of the Model 3, giving it an overall 5 out of 5 stars with top scores in the categories of Performance & drive, Handling, Front space, Equipment, options and extras, as well as Safety & security.
The Model 3 is great to drive, packed full of tech, is fast (ridiculously so in Performance guise) and even reasonably practical. Yes, it is firmer than some of its rivals, but it’s never uncomfortable even on beaten-up UK roads. Factor in a competitive price, and it’s a real contender not just in the electric car class but in the wider executive car class, too.

It’s a car that will encourage you to go electric like no other.
