Volkswagen ID.7 images and specs leaked ahead of premier

Volkswagen’s ID.7 has leaked ahead of its April 17 World Premier in China. China Auto News Daily got its hands on the Chinese Ministry of Information and Technology’s (MIIT) monthly list of cars approved by the regulator. That list happened to include images of the ID.7 in various trims and the exact vehicle specs that will launch in China.

The specs are limited in performance, but it gives us a good idea of what to expect, including a top speed of 150 km/h.

Via the images, we can see a bit of a difference from the other VW ID models. The ID.7 seems to resemble the Passat and has a full light bar across the back. We also note the name Vizzion on the back, which would confirm the vehicle will be called the ID.7 Vizzion, at least in China.

It also appears the ID.7 will come in three colours: white, red and teal.

We also now know that the ID.7 Vizzion will be manufactured in the VW-FAW plant in Guangdong.

It will be curious to see if the ID.7 released in Europe and North America differs from the Chinese model. The ID.7 Vizzion seems to lack the power expected from a flagship model in North America. So, we should find out more next week.

Here are the specs that VW has yet to confirm.
