A Tesla store in Montreal was the latest target of activists on Wednesday morning, as members of the environmentalist group Last Generation Canada spray-painted the building with bright pink paint in a protest against Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
According to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 10 a.m. regarding vandalism at the Tesla store on Ferrier Stree. Upon arrival, officers arrested two suspects, a 20-year-old man, Marcel Paré, and a 21-year-old woman, Valérie Lachapelle, both of whom were taken into custody but later released with conditions.
They are expected to appear in court in May, facing potential mischief charges.

In a press release published on their website, Last Generation Canada claimed responsibility for the act, stating that their goal was to send a message against Musk.
“We took action today because billionaires like Elon Musk prioritize profit over people’s lives. He is actively destroying democracies and spreading climate denial,” the group said in a press release.
The activists also demanded for the Canadian government to establish a Climate Disaster Protection Agency, which they argue is necessary to assist Canadians impacted by extreme weather events caused by fossil fuels. They propose funding the agency through higher taxes on the ultra-wealthy and major fossil fuel companies.
The incident in Montreal comes amid a wave of similar attacks against Tesla stores, Supercharger stations, and facilities across North America and Europe in recent weeks. In Canada this week, a Supercharger station was set on fire in Nanaimo, British Columbia, while a Model S was set fire in Ontario.
In the United States, multiple Tesla locations have been vandalized, including yesterday in Las Vegas where multiple vehicles were shot at and set on fire.
