Tesla has introduced a new customer-friendly policy aimed at improving the ownership experience during vehicle servicing.
The company will now extend any active subscriptions or ongoing free trials when a Tesla vehicle remains in service for more than one business day, ensuring owners don’t lose access to paid features while their cars are being repaired.
The update was highlighted in a recent service appointment reminder sent to Tesla owner and enthusiast @WholeMarsBlog. The message, which outlined upcoming service details, noted that if repairs take longer than a single business day, Tesla will automatically extend the duration of active software subscriptions or free trials — a first for the automaker.

While the message does not explicitly state which subscriptions or trials qualify for the extension, it presumably includes means features like Premium Connectivity and Full Self-Driving (Supervised), as well as their newly introduced Wheel & Tire and Windshield Protection Plans, both of which are exclusive to the U.S.
The change reflects Tesla’s growing focus on streamlining its after-sales support and enhancing transparency through its app-based service ecosystem. Customers can now manage every aspect of the service process — from booking appointments to tracking progress, arranging for mobile service, or reviewing updates — directly within the Tesla app.
