Tesla Vehicles Are The Least Stolen in US

Tesla vehicles are the least stolen, according to the Highway Loss Data Institute. The Model 3 and Model Y top the list, showing that Tesla vehicles are hard to steal.

The Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) has published a list of the most stolen vehicles for all 2020-22 models in the United States. The 2020–22 model year passenger vehicles combined had a whole vehicle theft claim frequency of 0.41 claims per 1,000 insured vehicle years. The list showed which manufacturers pay special attention to anti-theft protection for their cars, and those who are not very concerned about this issue. The data showed that Tesla is one of the manufacturers that has put the most effort into safety, with Model 3 and Model Y topping the list.

According to the study, Tesla Model 3 4WD (AWD) and Tesla Model Y are the least stolen cars in the US. They received the best results among all those sold in the country. Tesla Model X 4WD (AWD) is in fourth place, Tesla Model 3 takes sixth place, and Tesla Model S 4WD (AWD) comes in 11th. Makes and models that also performed well include Volvo XC90, GMC Acadia, Volvo XC40, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and others.

Other commonly stolen 2020-2022 models include luxury cars from BMW, Infiniti, and Land Rover, as well as three large pickup trucks with powerful engines. Completing the list are relatively inexpensive models from Honda, Kia, and Nissan. Thefts of Hyundai and Kia vehicles have risen sharply in recent years after thieves discovered many of them did not have an electronic immobilizer.
