Tesla spotted testing camouflaged Robotaxi at Warner Bros.

With the debut of the Tesla robotaxi less than a month away, what appears to be a heavily camouflaged prototype has been spotted where the unveiling is expected to take place.

The heavily camouflaged prototype was spotted at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. While Tesla has not officially announced this as the location for the event, the company has confirmed it will be in Los Angeles, confirming a previous report that it would be held at the Hollywood studio.

The photo, first posted on Reddit by a Warner Bros. employee, u/boopitysmopp, reveal a compact, two-door vehicle with bright yellow camouflage. Instead of the typical camouflage employed by automakers, which uses lines and geometric shapes to hide the design features of an upcoming vehicle, Tesla has added additional bodywork to throw fans off.

Ordinarily this sighting might not garner much attention, but with the unveil just weeks away, this all but confirms whatever is underneath all of the camouflage is indeed the robotaxi.

The vehicle, which was being followed by a Model Y, further confirming the authenticity of the sighting, appears to be significantly smaller, and appears to feature a two-seat design, matching the early sketches and prototypes seen in Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk.

According to the employee, who has since deleted their account on Reddit, they were also able to see what appeared to be a full-width LED light strip at the rear, reminiscent of the Cybertruck’s headlight, and what was recently seen on the Model Y Juniper prototype.

We can also see what appears to be cutouts for the side pillar cameras. The location and orientation of these cameras closely match what has been seen recently on several Model 3 test vehicles in California, which were suspected of being tested for the upcoming robotaxi.

Fortunately we won’t have to wait long to see the final design. That will happen on October 10 in Los Angeles. This week Tesla opened up a lottery for shareholders to enter for a chance to win tickets to the event.
