Tesla has achieved its strongest sales performance ever in South Korea, delivering a record-breaking 7,974 vehicles in August 2025. The milestone cements South Korea as Tesla’s third-largest market globally this year, trailing only the United States and China.
The Tesla Model Y was the star of the month, with 6,683 units sold, making it the best-selling imported car in South Korea. The Model 3 also contributed significantly, recording 1,290 deliveries.
Together, the two models secured the top three spots on the imported car chart, with the Model Y Long Range also among the best performers.
According to data from the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA), imported car sales in South Korea rose 22.6% year-over-year in August, reaching 27,304 units. Tesla alone accounted for nearly 30% of that figure, highlighting its rapidly growing influence in a market traditionally dominated by German luxury brands. (via Yonhap)

Tesla’s August success follows a string of strong months in South Korea. The company delivered 7,357 vehicles in July, regaining the top spot after a brief dip in June. Earlier this year, Tesla also hit a milestone in May, topping the monthly list of imported cars for the first time with over 6,500 sales.
So far in 2025, Tesla has delivered 34,543 vehicles in South Korea, the highest cumulative figure since entering the market. That trajectory suggests the automaker could surpass all previous annual records by the end of the year.
Adding to Tesla’s total later this year should also be the Cybertruck, which officially went on sale in South Korea last month, marking the electric pickup truck’s first expansion outside of North America.
