Tesla Semi to Be Shown at The Commercial Vehicle Exhibition in Germany

The Tesla Semi will be presented at the commercial vehicle exhibition in Hannover, Germany. This is the first time the truck will be shown in Europe. The appearance of such a level may hint that Tesla is ready to gain momentum in mass production.

This year Tesla wants to be presented at the important commercial vehicle exhibition in Germany with its Semi truck. The company will be present at the IAA Transportation 2024 exhibition, which is scheduled for September in Hannover. It will take place the weekend of September 21 and 22 and will offer special entertainment for drivers and families. Visitors will be able to gain an exciting insight into the world of logistics and transport, take part in recreational activities, and take advantage of special offers tailored to the needs of families and truckers.

“IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover is gaining momentum. Here we will introduce visitors to the innovative power of the industry. The interest of exhibitors around the world in carbon-neutral mobility and green commercial vehicles is clearly very high and shows that the industry is consistently driving forward the transformation. I am confident that in September in Hanover, companies will once again impressively demonstrate how their innovations contribute to the development of industry and society,” said Jürgen Mindel, VDA Managing Director responsible for the IAA.

26 percent of exhibitors are attending the IAA Transportation show for the first time this year, and Tesla is one of them. The electric truck will be one of the most interesting exhibits as companies increasingly look for alternatives to diesel trucks.

“Climate-neutral mobility in the transport sector requires not only innovative products from renowned manufacturers, but also the expertise of software and battery manufacturers. One thing is clear: we are at a critical juncture on the path to transformation. This requires communication between all parties involved. IAA Transportation offers the ideal platform for this on a national and international level,” said Mindel.

Tesla introduced Semi in 2017 and made first customer deliveries in 2022. Since then, dozens of the electric truck have been delivered to customers. However, Semi is currently only available for the North American market. The appearance of the truck at the European exhibition hints at further development and a possible imminent entry into the local market. Freight transport is an important industry in Europe. The region is committed to achieving carbon neutrality as quickly as possible. This means that Europe is a huge market for Tesla Semi.

In addition, the appearance at the show could also indicate that Tesla is ready to ramp up production. This is further evidenced by the fact that in recent months the company has expanded deliveries to several companies in the US with pre-orders.

Tesla is preparing for mass production, which will be launched in a new factory in Nevada, which is currently under construction. The target capacity is set at 50,000 Semi trucks per year.
