Tesla rolls out Vision Autopark to Cybertruck [2024.32.5]

The Tesla Cybertruck has received its first Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature, with the release of Vision Autopark. The feature was included in the 2024. 32.5 software update, that started rolling out to owners on Sunday night.

The Cybertruck has been on the roads since late November last year, but has been without Tesla’s signature features, Autopilot and FSD, since its release. The vehicle has slowly been getting closer to gaining these features over the last few weeks, with Park Assist visualizations arriving last month.

Last week Ashok Elluswamy, Director – Autopilot Software at Tesla, said the next step would involve the release of Autopark, which he said was going to arrive on the weekend. As promised, the vision-based Autopark rolled out on Sunday evening in the 2024.32.5 software update.

According to the release notes, the Cybertruck can now park and parallel park by itself. Just like Autopark on other Tesla vehicles, the driver can select one of the available parking spots on the center display, and the Cybertruck will do the rest for you.

“Your vehicle can now automatically park – and parallel park – in designated spaces. When you’re driving at low speed, your display highlights potential parking spaces. Autopark shows a square P symbol to suggest a space, but you can choose any highlighted space. To start parking, stop the vehicle, press Start, and release the steering wheel so it can move freely,” the release notes read.

It didn’t take long for some owners to go out and test the feature. Here’s a video of the Cybertruck backing in to a parking spot. While it may have completed the maneuver a little slower than a human would, it did perform well and parked perfectly between the lines.

Other FSD features still to be released for the Cybertruck include Autosteer (basic and city streets), Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, Summon (Dumb and Actually Smart), and Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control. Tesla has not said which feature will be released next, but if we had to guess, it will likely be basic Autosteer (Autopilot).
