Tesla owners in Australia and New Zealand are quickly embracing Full Self-Driving Supervised. Since its launch earlier this month, owners have covered more than 1 million kilometres with the system engaged. While global usage is of course much higher, the rapid uptake in these smaller right-hand-drive markets shows just how eager drivers are to put the technology to the test.
According to Tesla Australia & New Zealand on X, that distance is equivalent to 67 laps around the continent of Australia or 625 trips from Auckland to Invercargill. On a daily basis, owners across the two countries are now logging an impressive 51,700 miles (83,200 km) with FSD engaged.
What makes this figure even more notable is that the software only became available in Australia and New Zealand earlier this month, and is restricted to a relatively small subset of vehicles.
In less than 2 weeks, owners have travelled 1 million kilometres on FSD Supervised in AU & NZ

That's roughly 67 laps around Australia or 625 trips from Auckland to Invercargill
That is because FSD Supervised in the region is limited exclusively to Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4) equipped Teslas, which only started around mid to late 2023 for this market. Owners who purchased the package years before on earlier HW3/AI3 systems are still waiting for access, something that has generated frustration from these owners. Tesla has not yet provided a clear timeline for when these customers might receive the upgrade.
The scale of use in just two weeks suggests strong curiosity and a high rate of adoption among owners. Given the relatively small fleet size compared to larger markets, surpassing one million kilometres so quickly highlights both the popularity of the system and the level of trust drivers are placing in Tesla’s AI-driven driving features.
