Tesla has officially opened a new Supercharger in Comox, marking a major expansion of fast-charging infrastructure on Vancouver Island and addressing one of the most significant gaps in the region.
Located at the Quality Foods parking lot at 2275 Guthrie Road, the new station is now live after first appearing on Tesla’s Find Us map in late 2024 and entering construction earlier this year. Its activation represents a meaningful milestone for EV drivers traveling north of Nanaimo, where fast charging options have historically been limited.
The site features eight V4 Supercharger stalls, each capable of delivering up to 325 kW of peak charging power for compatible vehicles. As a V4 location, it is also designed to support non-Tesla EVs, although drivers will require a NACS adapter to plug in.
Pricing at the site does not follow time-of-use and will see Tesla owners paying $0.29/kWh during all hours of the day, while non-Tesla EV drivers pay a higher rate of $0.41/kWh.

With the station now operational, Tesla and other EV drivers can travel far more confidently to northern destinations such as Courtenay, Campbell River, and beyond. The opening also improves access to popular recreation areas like Mount Washington, where charging limitations previously required careful planning or reliance on slower alternatives.
While the Comox Supercharger is not directly on Highway 19, requiring roughly a 15-minute detour, its impact is significant. For many drivers, that small diversion is a worthwhile tradeoff for reliable, high-speed charging in an area that previously lacked it entirely.
The opening of the Comox location is part of Tesla’s broader effort to expand its charging footprint across Vancouver Island, particularly north of Nanaimo. Along with this station in Comox, Tesla is also currently building a Supercharger in Campbell River. With Comox now operational, the Supercharger team will likely soon head even further north on Vancouver Island to energize that station.
