Tesla Model Y Performance orders open in Canada for $74,990

Tesla has officially reopened orders for the Model Y Performance in Canada. Thanks to sourcing the Performance trim from Germany, Tesla is able to side-step tariffs, and the set the price at C$74,990.

As with Tesla’s other high-end trims, Canadian buyers are getting a complete package out of the box. At that price, all available paint colours (Stealth Grey, Pearl White, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, and Quicksilver), the white interior option, and the tow package are included — something that typically adds thousands of dollars to an order. Tesla is also giving buyers free lifetime Premium Connectivity.

That said, there is one notable omission. Deep Blue Metallic is not currently available as a paint option, which is likely to disappoint a few Canadian buyers given its popularity.

Unfortunately, Tesla’s current promotional financing rate of 2.99% for Model Y Long Range AWD orders does not apply to the Performance trim. Posted interest rates are instead 4.53% for all terms up to 96 months.

Additionally, buyers excited to place an order will need to temper expectations when it comes to delivery timing.

According to Tesla’s online configurator, first deliveries aren’t expected until March 2026. This is the timeline we expected when the company announced the Model Y Performance would be available in the first quarter of 2026.

The new Model Y Performance is no longer just a faster version of the standard Model Y — it now looks and feels like its own model. It features redesigned front and rear bumpers, a more prominent carbon-fibre rear spoiler, and new 21-inch Arachnid 2.0 wheels, giving it a wider, more aggressive road presence than the outgoing Performance trim.

Tesla has also introduced an adaptive suspension system tailored specifically for this variant, balancing sharper handling with improved ride comfort compared to the previous fixed setup.

Inside, the Model Y Performance benefits from the same interior updates found on the latest Model Y refresh, including customizable ambient lighting, a rear passenger touchscreen, additional sound insulation, and upgraded acoustic glass for a noticeably quieter cabin. Setting it apart though are custom front sport seats with extra bolstering and powered thigh cushion extenders.

The Model Y Performance also features a slightly larger 16″ QHD Touchscreen for the main display.

One of the most significant upgrades is the addition of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing the Model Y Performance to act as a portable power source for tools, appliances, or outdoor gear when paired with compatible accessories.
