Tesla installs V4 Superchargers as Hollywood Diner gets closer to completion

Telsa long-awaited Hollywood Diner and Supercharger continues to get closer to opening. The latest construction milestone at the project is the installation of the V4 Supercharger pedestals in the parking lot.

Tesla first started construction of its Hollywood Diner and Supercharger in September 2023, several years after the idea of a 1950’s-style diner was first mentioned by CEO Elon Musk. Located at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard, initial plans for the site showed Tesla planned to build a restaurant with 218 restaurant seats, with the first floor being mostly indoor seating, with the second floor having mostly outdoor seating, as well as a 77-seat theater sitting area.

These 77 seats offer an elevated view of two large 45-foot-tall LED movie screens in the parking lot that will be showing moves from 7:00am to 11:00pm each day.

While not progressing at the pace of Tesla’s construction projects in China, one year after work began the first Supercharger pedestals have now been installed, according to photos of the site shared by X user @AlSet51241438.

As you can see in the photos, it is still very much an active construction site, so the pedestals are covered in cardboard to protect them from any damage, but the sheer size of them is a giveaway that they are Tesla’s latest V4 pedestals.

Originally Tesla planned to add 28 Superchargers, but the company submitted plans earlier this year to also use an adjacent site to expand the number of Supercharger stalls to 80. Work has started here as well, with the paving being cleared and some of the groundwork for the installation of the underground utilities to support the additional Superchargers having already begun.
