Tesla held a series of special delivery events for the new Model Y at its Fremont Factory in California, Giga Texas in Austin, and Giga Berlin in Germany. These special delivery events were held even though deliveries had officially started in the U.S. almost a week earlier.
On March 8, 2025, Tesla organized “handoff” events at these locations, celebrating the occasion with customers and employees. At Gigafactory Texas, the event featured enthusiastic buyers, Tesla staff, and prominent displays of some of the company’s upcoming products, like the Cybercab. Even Tesla’s head designer, Franz von Holzhausen, and chief engineer, Lars Moravy, were present at the Fremont event to greet new owners.

When Will Canadian Deliveries Of The New Model Y Begin?
Deliveries of the new Model Y have started around the world, but one market that has yet to see the updated version of the electric SUV handed over to new owners is Canada. Based on the most recent information, VINs have started being assigned to customers in British Columbia. This is a good sign that the first deliveries should start in the next week or two.
