Tesla FSD Could Launch in the UAE as Soon as Next Month, Elon Musk Says

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software could be on the verge of launching in a new market, potentially as soon as next month, according to CEO Elon Musk.

The possibility emerged on social media after a user asked when Tesla’s advanced driver-assistance system would be available in the UAE. In typical Musk fashion, he responded simply, saying, “Hopefully, next month.” While short on details, it would mark another significant international expansion for Tesla’s FSD program.

If the rollout happens on that timeline, the UAE would become the latest markets to gain access to Tesla’s most advanced driver-assistance features. Most recently the software’s availability expanded to Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea.

A launch in the UAE would make strategic sense for Tesla. The country has invested heavily in smart city initiatives, advanced road infrastructure, and autonomous vehicle pilot programs, particularly in cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. These conditions could provide a favourable environment for Tesla to deploy and refine its software outside North America and Europe.

The announcement from Musk comes just one day after he visited Dubai to meet with Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

After only being available in North America for a number of years, Tesla has been steadily pushing FSD into new regions over the past year, following regulatory approvals and localized testing. Each new market requires extensive validation to ensure the software can handle local driving behaviors, road signage, and traffic rules. In regions with unique driving styles or infrastructure, Tesla often begins with a limited release before expanding availability more broadly.

It’s also worth noting that Musk’s comment, while encouraging, is not a formal announcement. Musk has a history of optimistic timelines, and delays are always possible if approvals or testing take longer than expected. Still, the public acknowledgment suggests that preparations are already well underway.
