Tesla files application for Supercharger in Thornhill, Ontario

Tesla has submitted an application and plans to build a new Supercharger in Thornhill, Ontario, where the company has a station marked as “In Development” on its map of upcoming locations.

According to the application submitted to the City of Vaughan, Ontario, and uncovered by Supercharger sleuth Marco, Tesla wants to build a large 24-stall Supercharger at the Promenade Shopping Center in Thornhill (1 Promenade Circle). The plans show the Supercharger would be located in the northwest corner of the parking lot near T&T Supermarket.

Along with the Superchargers, which appear to be V3 based on the plans, Tesla will also be installed 8 Level 2 Destination Chargers in the same section of the parking lot.

Tesla recently updated their map of upcoming Supercharger locations to remove expected opening dates, so we don’t know when construction of this Supercharger will begin. As noted above, Tesla’s map simply states Thornhill is “in development.”

If Tesla’s application is approved, this will be the first Supercharger in the region. Tesla currently has two Superchargers open in Vaughan, another two in Markham, and several others that have been built and are just waiting for power.
