Tesla is getting closer to finally starting deliveries of the Cybertruck in Canada as the first customers are reporting that Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) are appearing in their accounts.
Tesla delivered the first Cybertrucks to a select group of customers in the US in late November 2023, before starting deliveries in earnest a few months later. In the months that followed there was no indication of when deliveries in Canada might begin, as the option to configure a Cybertruck for delivery had not yet opened to Canadians, along with no information on the all-important pricing.
That finally changed in early August when Tesla launched the Cybertruck in Canada, with a starting price of $137,990 for the Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) version, and $165,990 for the tri-motor Cyberbeast. Those prices were eased just a little bit when Tesla removed the federal luxury tax from the equation just a day later.
At the time the company was estimating the first deliveries would begin in October or November, and it looks like they might be able to meet the earlier part of that estimate.
On Wednesday several owners reported that a VIN had appeared in their accounts. While no delivery dates have been set, the appearance of a VIN is a good indication that delivery will likely take place in the next couple of weeks.
