Tesla has shared a recent milestone on X (formerly Twitter). The EV maker has manufactured the ten millionth drive unit from its factories.
According to the official Tesla X account, the automaker’s drive unit team has produced 10 million drive units. The drivetrain team posed around the record-setting component in a photo attached to the post. From indications, the milestone was recorded by the Giga Shanghai team.

CEO Elon Musk quoted the post and congratulated the team on the achievement. The company’s Gigafactories handle also celebrated with the team.

Tesla’s Nevada factory recently celebrated the production of its five-millionth drivetrain. The factory ships drive units to the Fremont Factory.
In the same quarter, Q2 2024, Tesla reported 443,956 deliveries, bringing the total number of deliveries since the company’s inception to over six million.
Most of the 10 million drivetrains have ended up inside the Model 3 sedan and Model Y SUV, as the duo accounts for most of Tesla’s sales globally. However, the drivetrain team will prepare to get even busier as Tesla has announced it is releasing new and affordable models early in 2025, including the one for its robotaxi service.
