Tesla adding over 50 new Superchargers with more than 630 stalls across Canada in 2025

Tesla is set to significantly expand its Supercharger network in Canada in 2025, with plans to open over 50 new sites and add more than 630 charging stalls across the country.

Earlier this month Tesla said they were preparing for record demand on their Supercharger network during the holiday season, with the company forecasting over 20 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of daily usage across its global network in the weeks leading up to, and beyond, Christmas day.

Canada played a role in this increased demand, with many stations in BC, Ontario, and Quebec seeing wait times over the weekend. We pointed this out on X, highlighting that it was a combination of increased demand, and also cold weather, contributing to the wait times.

In response to our post, Tesla shared their plans to better cope with this demand. The company will expand the Supercharger network in Canada in 2025 by more than 50 stations and more than 630 charging stalls. With their post, Tesla announced some new Superchargers we didn’t know about previously, and also revealed the number of stalls at some we already knew were coming.

Going from west to east, Tesla’s expansion is extensive. In British Columbia, Tesla is planning over 150 stalls spread across 17 new locations, most of which we already knew about. Major additions include 20-stall sites in North Vancouver and Abbotsford, as well as 16-stall Superchargers in Kelowna, Langley, Hope, and Surrey. Smaller communities in northeastern BC, such as Burns Lake, Prince Rupert, and Smithers will also benefit from new installations, each with 4 stalls. One new site we didn’t already know about is Vanderhoof (4 stalls), and now we also know Tesla is adding 12 stalls on the west coast of Vancouver Island in Tofino.

Alberta will see notable growth, with new sites planned for Calgary, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, St. Albert, and a new site in Wandering River that will help connect the newly announced site in Fort McMurray. In all Alberta Tesla owners will see at 56 new stalls across the province next year.

Ontario will experience the largest increase, with Tesla planning to add over 190 stalls across 20 new locations. Brampton will receive the highest capacity site, featuring 24 stalls, while Mississauga is set to host three new Supercharger stations with capacities of 8, 20, and 24 stalls respectively. Other key locations include Ajax, Vaughan, Ottawa, London, and Waterloo.

Quebec will also see significant growth, with over 80 new stalls across the province. Laval, Mirabel, Mont-Royal, and Montréal will each receive 16 to 20-stall installations, addressing increasing demand in the province with the highest number of EVs on the roads. Smaller locations, such as Alma, Gatineau, and Saint-Sauveur, will also be part of the expansion.

Tesla’s expansion isn’t limited to mainland Canada. We already knew St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, was set to receive a Supercharger, and now we know Tesla is planning it to have 4 stalls.
