SpaceX has officially taken Starlink into the world of brick-and-mortar retail. The company has opened its first dedicated Starlink store in a place you might least expect – Gretna, Nebraska.
The new store, spotted by a user on X at the Nebraska Crossing outlet mall, features a full lineup of Starlink hardware and accessories, as well as branded merchandise. It’s the first time SpaceX has offered a fully in-person buying experience for Starlink, complete with product demos and on-site activation.
The store in Gretna is just the beginning. According to a customer who shared an email from SpaceX on Reddit, Gretna is just the beginning, as three other Starlink stores are opening – two more in Nebraska and another at the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. (via PC Mag)
“Visit our new store locations to purchase, activate, and pick up your Starlink Kit in person. Take the opportunity to learn about installation, speeds, reliability, and more,” the email read.
While the exact location of this first-ever Starlink retail should is a surprise, this expansion is not. As we previously reported, SpaceX published a job posting just over a month ago for a Starlink Store Manager in Bakersfield, California. The position — still active — calls for someone to run a fully branded Starlink retail space, manage a small team, and drive customer adoption.
Until now, Starlink has relied on online orders and partnerships with major retailers like Best Buy, Costco, Home Depot, London Drugs, Walmart, and others to get its hardware in front of consumers.
Adding another dimension to its sales strategy, the company also recently started listing its hardware and accessories on the biggest online retailer in the world – Amazon.
