SpaceX has quietly introduced a new addition to its Starlink product — the Starlink Router Mini. The new router is available first in the United States through the official Starlink Shop, but is expected to expand to other regions and countries in the future.
Optimized for Compact Performance
Unlike the larger Starlink Gen 3 Router that covers an area up to 3,200 square feet, the Router Mini is designed for smaller spaces up to 1,200 square feet. It supports dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, with MU-MIMO (multi-user, multiple-input, multiple-output) capability — specifically, 2×2 on 2.4 GHz and 2×3 on 5 GHz, ensuring reliable and simultaneous connections. The router is also equipped with WPA2 security.
Before you purchase one, it is important to note the Router Mini is compatible with all current Starlink routers except for the first-generation (Gen 1) models, meaning it works seamlessly with the Starlink Mini dish, Gen 2 Router, and Gen 3 Router.
Mesh Network Capabilities
Beyond being a standalone router, the Starlink Router Mini can also function as part of a Starlink Mesh system. Users can position one or more Router Minis throughout their home to create a stronger, more consistent network — a benefit for those with larger homes or complex layouts.
Availability and Pricing
Currently, the Starlink Router Mini is available only in the U.S. through the Starlink Shop, priced at just US$40. SpaceX has not disclosed international pricing or release dates.
