SpaceX has officially launched its new Starlink Performance Kit, a highly durable satellite internet system designed to deliver reliable connectivity even in the harshest environments—and while on the move.
The Starlink Performance terminal is housed in a powder-coated aluminum enclosure to resist corrosion and impact. It boasts a 10-year mission life and can operate in extreme weather, withstanding temperatures ranging from -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F) and winds over 270 kph (170 mph).
The unit even survives hail impacts up to 1.25 inches and submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

Starlink has also significantly improved its snow-melting capabilities, enabling the terminal to melt snow at rates up to 5.2 inches per hour depending on snow density. These features make it ideal for remote environments, maritime conditions, and high-vibration use cases like construction, mining, or long-haul transport.
Out of the box, users can expect download speeds exceeding 400 Mbps. However, starting in 2026, SpaceX plans to unlock gigabit speeds in the most remote parts of the world—without requiring new hardware. These future upgrades will come via software and network enhancements.
The terminal also includes an Advanced Power Supply that supports both AC and DC power, features a backup battery input for seamless failover, and offers smart diagnostics with LAN and high-power PoE outputs.
Starlink’s most rugged kit yet, Performance offers reliable high-speed internet (400+ Mbps download speeds) in the most extreme and remote environments.

The Starlink Performance Kit is currently only available in the U.S. and is priced at $1,999—about $500 more than the previous generation. Monthly service plans range from:
- $65/month for 50GB (local priority)
- $165/month for 500GB
- $290/month for 1TB
- $540/month for 2TB
These plans prioritize bandwidth in local regions and are designed for high-demand use cases, including enterprise and mobile deployments
SpaceX has not announced when the Starlink Performance Kit will be made available in Canada.
