Rivian Lands First Major Fleet Deal Outside Amazon with HelloFresh

Rivian has officially delivered 70 of its all-electric commercial vans to HelloFresh, marking its first major fleet customer since the automaker opened commercial sales beyond Amazon earlier this year.

HelloFresh, the global meal kit provider known for brands like Factor and GreenChef, has already integrated the Rivian vans into 14 major markets in the United States. Since the rollout began several months ago, the vans have driven over 250,000 miles (402,000km) and helped the company avoid using approximately 20,000 gallons of gasoline and a reduction of over 200 metric tons of carbon emissions.

Ben Kubik, Senior Program Manager of Last-Mile Logistics at HelloFresh, noted that the range of the Rivian vans has opened up delivery routes that weren’t previously possible with other EVs.

“The Rivian Commercial Van is also purposefully built for last mile delivery, so we can avoid things like turning the vehicle on and off 100+ times a day, manually sliding the side door of a cargo van the same amount, or getting stuck in traffic idling and wasting gasoline,” he said.

HelloFresh has also been building out infrastructure to support their new EV fleet, installing more than 100 charging stations across its network in preparation for the deployment. Partnering with Ryder’s EV-focused RyderElectric+ platform, the company is also securing long-term support for vehicle maintenance and fleet scaling.

For Rivian, this deal is a key step in proving that its commercial vans can meet the demands of large-scale clients outside its original exclusive partner, Amazon. As of early 2025, Amazon had more than 20,000 Rivian vans in its fleet, but the exclusivity agreement ended in late 2023, giving Rivian the opportunity to expand to other buyers.
