Porsche’s flagship electric sedan, the Taycan, is getting a significant boost for the 2025 model year with a suite of upgrades aimed at improving range, performance, and driver experience — all without raising the base price.
New 105kWh Battery Standard
Perhaps the biggest change is the 105kWh Performance Battery Plus that now comes standard across the entire Taycan lineup, including the entry-level Taycan and Taycan 4S. This replaces the previous 89kWh unit and unlocks an additional 80km (50 miles) of range. The base Taycan can now travel up to 677km (421 miles) on a full charge, according to Top Gear.
What makes this change even more appealing is that Porsche is rolling in the battery upgrade without increasing the base price of the EV.
More Tech, More Comfort
Beyond just extending range, Porsche has also improved the Taycan’s tech and comfort features. Adaptive cruise control and lane change assist are now standard on all Taycan models. For those opting for the GTS and Turbo variants, rear-axle steering and Porsche’s Power Steering Plus — previously optional equipment — are now included.
The Taycan Cross Turismo also benefits from Porsche’s generosity, now coming standard with the Offroad Design Package. This adds 10mm of extra ground clearance, skid plates, and design elements tailored for light off-road adventures.
Infotainment and Audio Upgrades
Inside the cabin, the updated Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system brings faster performance and greater functionality. Drivers now have direct access to the new Porsche App Center, offering a wider selection of third-party apps — from streaming services to navigation aids — natively within the infotainment system.
Audiophiles will appreciate the introduction of Dolby Atmos spatial audio for vehicles equipped with Bose or Burmester premium sound systems, elevating the in-car listening experience with immersive, theater-like sound quality.
