Electric vehicle (EV) drivers in the Ottawa River Valley area will soon have more choices to charge their vehicles.
Thanks to a $100,000 investment in Ottawa River Energy Solutions by Natural Resources Canada, the Pembroke-based energy and technology service provider will install 23 new EV chargers in the area.
The funding is provided through Natural Resources Canada’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program, which supports the federal government’s ambitious target that all new passenger vehicles sold in Canada by 2040 will be zero emission.
Other recent investments by the Government of Canada include $296,000 for the Durham Region in Southern Ontario to install 60 new EV chargers, and $207,000 towards the construction of 43 new EV fast chargers in the region.
The government also recently announced its Fall Economic statement a further $150 million over three years to fund EV infrastructure.
